Turkey’s aggression proves that the internal contradictions of capital were unsolvable within the state and its monetary reserves, resulting in them spreading outside of its borders in the form of a military intervention. The bourgeoisie of all countries prepare and start wars to compete for their own interests. They themselves cannot stop this never-ending competition, only the class-conscious proletariat can.
The attack on Syria is the latest event in the imperialist wars funded by the bourgeoisie to wreck the country and to secure its natural resources. The acts against Syria break pretended international laws and decisions of the UN, showing the hypocrisy of not only Turkey, but of the whole international bourgeoisie.
Wars are not only armed conflicts. They’re also about the long armament process. These arms that the bourgeoisie use for their own proletariat to kill other nations’ workers, are also made by the workers. We have to remember that only the proletariat can end these wars, and it is up to them to do so.
Finland’s own arms industry has traded with Turkey as well. The sale of weapons is expected from the bourgeoisie and that is clearly reprehensible, however condemning them is not enough. The Finnish working class must realize that they can stop the production of weapons and do their part in ending the slaughter of nations.
The working class will be the loser regardless of the outcome of the war. Wars can only be stopped by workers taking power in their own hands and putting a stop to capitalist chaos.
